APPLETON, Wis., January 3, 2012 — Hobart Welding Products has launched its enhanced Champion® ELITE all-in-one AC generator and AC/DC stick welder. The exclusive engine placement of the Champion ELITE creates more efficient airflow, reduces sound and eliminates heat recirculation. At just over 3 feet long and weighing only 490 pounds, its compact design offers powerful AC/DC stick welding capacity – 260 Amps AC/225 Amps DC – along with 11,000 watts of peak generator power.

Hobart Welding Products designed the unit for farm/ranch, general construction and emergency power applications or as a stand-alone generator. The unit provides strong and reliable generator power to run compressors, pumps, lights, hand tools and other equipment. It is also capable of producing power during welding so multiple users can work on tasks at the same time. The Champion ELITE features a covered receptacle package that includes (1) 6-50R 230V receptacle, (1) 14-50R 230V receptacle and (2) 115V 20A Duplex GFCI receptacles.

Adding to its reliability, the Champion ELITE has a 12-gallon fuel tank, along with a Kohler 23 HP twin cylinder, 4-cycle OHV gasoline engine that was designed to conserve fuel and provide long run time. The unit replaces the Hobart Champion 4500 Welder/Generator and offers key features that make it ideal for maintenance and repair projects. This lightweight and compact unit features a larger gas tank – 6.25 gallons compared to 1 gallon on the Champion 4500 – that provides longer run times. For example, you can weld at 75 amps or use 2500 watts of auxiliary power for 12 ½ hours on one tank of gas. The unit provides up to 145 amps of DC welding power, offers exceptionally smooth arc-starting capabilities and can accommodate stick electrodes up to 5/32-inch diameter.

New Handler 190 Spool-Gun-Ready Wire Feed Welder Helps Ease Setup

APPLETON, Wis., July 5, 2011 — Hobart Welding Products now offers its Handler^® 190 wire feed welder to help ease aluminum welding and provide welders a low cost option to weld this material with a small frame MIG welder. The Handler 190 allows direct plug-in of the SpoolRunner™ 100 spool gun. This optional spool gun eliminates feeding problems associated with aluminum wire and can also be used with mild or stainless steel wire.

The Handler 190 wire feed welder is capable of operating on 230/240 volt circuits and offers an output range of 25 to 190 amps, allowing users to weld materials as thin as 24 gauge and as thick as 5/16 inch. It also features seven voltage selections and infinite wire-feed-speed control to provide users with greater control of the output parameters and help them gain better bead appearance with less spatter — regardless of the type or thickness of material. The Handler 190 wire feed welder can also accommodate multiple wire types and sizes, including .023- to .035-inch mild or stainless steel; .030- to .045-inch flux-cored wires; and .030- to .035-inch aluminum wires. Additionally, it features dual-groove quick-change drive rolls that make it easy to change from one wire size to another. A comfortable 10-foot gun and a 10-foot work cable with clamp come standard with the Handler 190 wire feed welder and allow users to weld with greater ease and maneuverability.

Hobart's New Handler® 210MVP

Hobart Welding Products introduces the Handler 210MVP, a new wire feed welder now with a Multi-Voltage Plug (MVP) that provides flexibility to use either 115V or 230V input power. With a simple twist — no tools required — the MVP allows users to quickly and easily connect to 115V or 230V receptacles. Just choose the correct plug to fit the receptacle, connect it to the Handler 210MVP’s power cord and start welding. The Handler 210MVP automatically adjusts itself to the correct input power to ensure superior arc performance. In addition to providing 210 amps of welding power packed into a portable case, the Handler 210MVP offers enough output to weld 3/8-inch thick mild steel, as well as the precise control needed for welding 24 gauge material.

The Handler 210MVP offers seven output voltage settings (taps) and infinite wire feed speed control options, making the unit easy to adjust for different materials, thicknesses and wires. When plugged into 115V power, the 210MVP utilizes four voltage settings (taps) and has 140 amps of weld output. When plugged into 230V power, it uses all seven taps and 210 amps of weld output. Both offer fine control of the output parameters to provide consistent arc performance with less spatter and better weld bead appearance.

The Handler 210MVP features an integrated spool gun control circuit that allows direct plug-in of the spool gun (sold separately), along with a selector switch that permits a quick and easy changeover between the MIG gun and spool gun.

Included with the Handler 210MVP is a comfortable 10-foot MIG gun and 10-foot work cable with clamp.
